Clear Cure Goo, has been on the shelves of may shops for a while now. I have been reading about it, our Bryn Mawr store carries it, but I for one reason or another had just never tried it, until recently. I was amazed at how fast it cured once hit with a UV light, I stated off using the "Thin" blend, while touching up the flies with the brushable bottle, wow it makes a great head, or fly if you are tying surf candies. Almost immediately after my first fly was complete I was filling out a Hareline order filled with this stuff. It works awesome and blows any other UV curing product out of the water. Here are a few examples of flies I have been tying with it.

Birthday Browns & Changing Weather Steel
Last weekend Casey and I had plans to head north for two days of Steelhead fishing, but with the temps dropping, water rising and falling, we were about to call the trip. Last minute we decided to just go for it, so we took off Saturday night, headed to my sisters to pick up the boat and take a "nap" before launching the boat. The fishing was tough, but we each managed a nice fish the first day. Day two we had high hopes, but after pounding every hole with nothing, the trip got progressively quit as the day went on. Finally Casey connected with a fish, sucker spawn and stoneflies were the ticket. Our number was low, but we went 3 for 3, nothing to complain about.
Yesterday was the first day of my upper 20's so we decided there was no better way to welcome it, than to head out for some wild browns. Fishing was winter fishing, but what wild brown can resist a hot collar pheasant tail? We managed a few fish and had the creek all to our selves. Great Morning!

Harry T. Making it Count
Harry from our State College store, headed up to Erie PA yesterday to try his hand at a little winter Steelhead fishing. Going up even when everyone said it was tough, not a lot of fish, and clear water. Well it paid off for Harry, landing his 1st ever Steelhead! A beautiful hen!

Big Spring - The 1st Trip
Monday it was decided that I would drive down to Big Spring, just south of Harrisburg, in Newville PA, meet up with Joey, and do some fishing. It was a great day, at the end we both decided it was the best day we had ever had thus far. The fish were there, and ready to eat just about anything we would send there way, scuds, peaking caddis, sculpin, PTs, Midges, GD's Cat Nip, and the list goes on. Joey and I each hooked one of the "monsters" huge fish that never eat, but we couldn't get them to hand. We had great success however with the larger fish 12-16 inches. It was awesome, a great way to start the new year!!!!
